When it comes to your HOT CHOCOLATE . . . 🍫Are you TEAM MARSHMALLOW or TEAM WHIP CREAM 😋
For the most decadent hot chocolate . . . you'll need:
3 oz of grated high quality dark chocolate (I really like Lindt)
2 cups whole milk
1 heaping TB of Dutch cocoa powder
2 TB sugar (I like brown sugar)
1/2 TS of pure vanilla extract
2 TS cornstarch
pinch of salt
Optional toppings: cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, whip cream, marshmallows
Bring it all together:
To a pot, whisk together the grated chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch & pinch of salt.
Whisk in the whole milk and set to medium heat. Stir frequently while the mixture comes to a gentle simmer. Don't let it boil.
Once the mixture comes to a gentle simmer, stir in the vanilla extract & turn down the heat to low. In a few minutes, it will thicken.
Taste the hot chocolate to see if it needs more sugar.
Pour the hot chocolate into your favorite mug and choose your toppings.
